DAVID Beckham caused chaos in Australia yesterday – simply by landing there.

Fans packed out Melbourne Airport ahead of the star's arrival, leaving Becks' LA Galaxy teammates waiting on the bus as security guards slowly navigated him through the terminal.

Carrying his own suitcase, the former England captain patiently signed autographs and offered his apologies when one fanatical Aussie's pen refused to work.

The country could witness Becks' last ever game for LA Galaxy – his contract with the club ends this month and he's yet to decide on his future.

to sign the 36-year-old midfielder, who's vying for a place in the GB Olympics squad.

Australia is David's final stop on his team's three-nation tour that also included trips to Indonesia and the Philippines.

Last week he visited a UNICEF-supported government centre for rescued homeless children in Manila.

He thrilled the youngsters by posing for snaps, dressing up in graduation gear and joining them for an art class.
